U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown made the following statement regarding his endorsement of Emily Hagan in her race for State Senate in Ohio's 24th District:

"I am thrilled to endorse Emily Hagan for State Senate.  From her experience as an educator to her advocacy for early childhood education, Emily has always fought for Ohio’s working families.  In the legislature we can count on her to continue building Ohio from the middle out.”

Columbus, OH – The Ohio AFL-CIO Executive Board endorsed three Cleveland area candidates for the state legislature at its meeting this morning.  Emily Hagan, candidate for the 24th State Senate district, Jill Miller Zimon, candidate for the 12th State House district and Tommy Greene, candidate for 16th State House district all received endorsements.

“Emily, Jill and Tommy are all candidates that working people can have confidence in,” said North Shore AFL-CIO Executive-Secretary Harriet Applegate.  “Each of them have the background, experience and platform to be champions for working families in the state legislature,” she said.  “On important issues like education funding, local government funding and policies that support people who are working for a better life, Emily, Jill and Tommy will be powerful voices at a time when we need them most,” Applegate said.

The Ohio AFL-CIO will be running an aggressive campaign on behalf of all its endorsed candidates in the primary as well as the general election in November as it continues to support an agenda that will boost working families.
